A Map of 16th-Century London

 Founded as a Roman outpost along the banks of the Thames, London has since been one of the world's major economic and cultural centers. While the London of today encompasses a massive swath of land along both banks of the Thames River, the economic and cultural hubs of the city have not strayed far from the boundaries shown in this map, and thus centered around landmarks such as the House of Parliment, the Tower of London, and Westminster Abbey.
