This course will provide a background in the theoretical and methodological development of American historical archaeology, with a particular emphasis on the ways in which archaeologists have approached integration of archaeological, documentary, oral historical, and ethno-historic data. Emphasis on continuing theoretical developments in the disciplines. Politics of historical archaeology, and ways in which historical archaeologists and other public historians make the past relevant to the present.
