Learn how to apply entrepreneurial approaches to generate meaningful social change. Industry sponsor, cloud-communications company Twilio, has challenged UC Berkeley students to help address international health, development and disaster recovery issues. You will compete in cross-discipline, lean start-up teams. Guided by experienced mentors, you will generate and validate ideas, and built it using rapid iterative methods, to deliver a working, innovative solution to market. The winning team will have the chance to present their solution at conferences and competitions, and implement it with real customers. The last decade has seen an explosion in social entrepreneur activity – over 200 universities in the US have established programs focused on the field, and hundreds of millions of dollars has been invested in social-entrepreneurship organizations.
