This course is an introductory survey of Western art produced from 1900 to 1960. It engages key writings in art history and visual cultural studies that interpret and offer critical analysis of modes of creative expression, artistic practices/styles, and movements. The course focus is on painting and sculpture; photography, performance, video art, and architecture are discussed as well.
